Reflection for TLM1010 Technical Communication

Throughout this technical communication module, I learnt a lot over the past three months and improved myself in communication and writing. I was able to improve my English accuracy with the help of my professor Brad, who consistently insists us in speaking up during each and every lesson. This in turn helps me in talking in fluent English and minimize my Singlish which I frequently speak. I also learnt to write formal report, letters and analysis with proper citations for references that I used. Another main aspect of this module was presentation skills. I learnt that presentation is a vital part of university. I took this module as a steppingstone to learn to do a proper presentation where it will be beneficial in the near future.

During our group presentation, we had to present to totally new students, who were not from my course. Hence, I was a little panicked about presenting to new people, but I put aside my fear and presented confidently as I was clear on my content. For the presentation showcase, I was not part of it. But I realized it is really hard to talk in front of a huge crowd, as some friends who did their presentations better previously, got nervous upon looking at the crowd. The questions bombarded by the one of externals was also high-level type of questions, where it requires deeper understanding of the content. This insists that I should really prepare for any type of questions thrown at me for my presentations and I should be confident enough to answer them.

In conclusion, I am really grateful for my professor who taught me the relevant skills through this module which can be used for my future endeavors. Hence, I will forever cherish the moments I spent in this module.
